In Ghana:

Malaria is the leading cause of death for children under 5 years of age

3.5 million people contract the disease every year

Approximabely 25,000 children die each year from malaria

Insecticide Treated Nets (ITN) and education about prevention are key to ending malaria

Provide a Net and Malaria Education

Your $15 purchases one insecticide-treated net and six months of malaria prevention education. Our staff in the village will assess the home and talk with the family about the importance of sleeping under a bed net. A net is then delivered, and our staff makes follow-up visits for six months to ensure the nets are used correctly.

Provide a Mattress and Bed Frame

Bed nets must be attached to proper bedding, which includes a mattress and bed frame. If a family does not have adequate bedding, we arrange for the purchase of a mattress and the construction of a simple, sturdy bed frame. You can provide this for a family that is at-risk for contracting malaria.
