Advocate for legal pathways
Helping the vulnerable and marginalized in our country starts with pushing for legislation that protects and defends them at the highest levels of our government. Staying informed and making your voice heard is crucial in making sure that our nations politicians work on solutions to protect some of our nations most vulnerable people groups.
Suspension of US Refugee Program
A recent Executive Order has suspended the U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program as of January 27, 2025. This policy impacts hundreds of thousands of refugees and other immigrants who are desperately seeking a safe place to rebuild their lives. Vulnerable populations, including religious minorities, face prolonged persecution. An executive order temporarily halting disbursement of foreign development assistance funds was also issued, allowing the new administration to conduct a review of all such funds. Lives are at risk. Families are being torn apart. Communities are reeling. Speak up for them. NOW is the time to advocate on the behalf of people experiencing desperate need across the world.
Talk with Elected Officials and urge them to fight for change.
Here is a possible script of what to say:
“Hello, I am calling/writing to ask that the President reinstate the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program so that refugees fleeing persecution can continue to be resettled. Please reverse this decision.”
