We assess new entrants into our programs every few months, and we now have four young men who have entered our student sponsorship program and are eager to begin school. Here are their stories:

Benjamin is nine years old and lives in the village of Mpobi, Ghana. His parents died when he was a young boy, and so he has been unable to attend school full-time. He lives with his grandmother and his brother, Caleb. His grandmother has no source of income, and so at this time, Benjamin is not in school. When he was in school, his favorite subject was mathematics. He loves to play football, and wants to be a police officer when he grows up.

Caleb is 11 years old and lives in the village of Mpobi, Ghana. His parents died when he was a young boy, and so he has been unable to attend school full-time. He lives with his grandmother and his brother, Benjamin. His grandmother has no source of income, and so at this time, Caleb is not in school. When he was in school, his favorite subject was ICT (Computers). He loves to play football, and wants to be a bank manager when he grows up.

Sampson also has never known his father and his mother died a few years ago. She was the breadwinner of the family, and left Samspon and his brother, Ezekiel, with their grandmother. She could not afford to send them to school, and so they dropped out. Their grandmother has a hard time feeding them, and is looking for someone to step in and help her give her grandsons an education and proper nutrition. Sampson also plays football, and his favorite subject in school is science. His dream is to be a doctor when he grows up.
