Eight Days of Thanksgiving

Want to get a better night's sleep? Improve your psychological and physical health? Enhance empathy and reduce aggression? Try gratitude. Research has found that people who are grateful on a regular, daily basis experience benefits to both body and mind. Gratitude also enhances self-esteem and increases mental strength. People who regularly say thank you cultivate an awareness of all they have been given. These are the kind of people we want to be around, but also the people we want to be!

Since it is the thankful season, we decided to jump start an enhanced level of gratitude by finding one thing to be thankful for each day leading up to Thanksgiving day. As we have made our list, we realize that it's easy to get out of balance and spend too much time focusing on the problems, imperfect situations, and things we wish were different. Taking some time to list all the good things that are right in front of us might just give us the mental energy to tackle the challenges and deal with those imperfections.

Each day, we're posting a photo of what we are thankful for, so if you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, you may have already seen our first two days of gratitude. If you don't follow us yet, take a moment to follow our accounts.

We hope this glimpse into all that we're grateful for in Ghana will cause you to look at your own life and find that small and big things each day that cause you to give thanks.
