Good Neighbor Team
What you'll do
A GNT is a group of 6-8 people from a local church that partners with Rising Village to welcome and walk alongside a newly arrived refugee family. A GNT offers a way to facilitate long- term, mutually transformative relationships for refugee families.
Time Commitment
2-3 hours/week, 6 months
Responsibilities
Gather Welcome Kits and furniture for the family’s apartment
Set up the apartment, stock pantry with groceries, prepare warm, culturally-appropriate welcome meal
Greet family at the airport and orientate them to their new apartment and community
Assist Rising Village with practical resettlement tasks like school enrollment, doctor’s appointments, and transportation to Cultural Orientation.
Commit to at least one team member visiting the family each week for 6 months.

Additional Info
Rising Village staff will directly support the GNT during their assignment
Rising Village staff will have a check-in call every month with the GNT lead, 90 day check-in with the entire team, and 180-day debrief with the team.
Training & On-boarding
Complete a 2-hr in-person Good Neighbor Team Training as an entire team
Attend the in-person volunteer training (1hr) before starting at the Rising Village Office (multiple dates available once you apply)
Other trainings will be made available as needed.
